Pre-alpha tests have shown it'll work with around 120 players, and the developers hope to hit 300 by launch. TLDR: Perfect Realistic Pirate Simulation game, dead playerbase, no updates. It's the sort of ambitious idea that I imagine will come out a bit wonky, but hope the ambition will shine through. Now the only reason why I mentioned this is because a lot of people are going to be really bothered by this and would feel betrayed. It's as perfect as they envisioned it to be. There will be no updates following the full release, the devs have stated that there are no plans on adding new content to the game. One other thing that people might consider, but it doesn't really bother me as much, is that this game is fully released. If this was a review for when it released, it would have been a yes, but if someone were to ask me if they should play this game, I'd have to say "Don't waste your time, the game is amazing, but the playerbase just doesn't exist." It has perfect realistic immersion for people that want to know and feel how it was like to operate a ship in this era of sail.Īnyways, the only reason why this is a 'No' on the recommendation is that, to put it simply, the game is pretty much dead. Blackwake is a multiplayer naval FPS focused on teamwork and cooperation. The game mechanics is as perfect as it could be and multiplayer ship combat SHOULD be just like this one, every cannon round matters, reloading taking really long, etc. This review definitely is a positive one because I love the game and the potential it has to changing pirate simulation. ![]() ![]() Got this game when it released, and the release was so fun and I spent so much hours playing it.
